Our day camp is an ALL VOLUNTEER run day camp. We organize and help at camp because we love enriching girls lives.

Volunteer-Led Day Camps

Volunteer-led day camps are put together by Girl Scouts, for Girl  Scouts! These camps are hosted by River Valleys volunteers and are a  great way to learn new skills, meet other Girl Scouts in the area, and  most importantly—have a rip-roaring good time!

While hosted by specific service units, these camps are open to all Girl Scout sisters.

Philosophies and Guidelines

BLSU has an established volunteer-run day camp program with two main goals:

  1. To provide a safe, fun, friendly, and educational outdoor camp  experience; during which, girls have ample opportunities to learn about  themselves and the world around them.
  2. To offer leadership opportunities for young women to progress with  increasing responsibilities through Jr. Caddie, Caddie, Sr. Caddie, and young adult roles. For more information on Caddies see our Caddie page.

COVID-19 Precautions (Last Updated 5/2/2022)

COVID-19 Restrictions

Council has lifted nearly all of the COVID-19 restrictions, so camp will be as close as possible to pre-pandemic years.  Please refer to the Registration Page for all current restrictions.

Below are things to think about in order to keep everyone healthy and safe while at camp during these unprecedented times.

We want everyone to be safe and have a wonderful time at camp this year. There are things we will ask of you before camp and during camp to help keep everyone safe:

  • We would appreciate your consideration in staying away from large crowds and non-vaccinated people for 2 weeks before camp.
  • Please wear clean masks everyday.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water and use hand-sanitizer.
  • Please monitor your camper's, caddies', or adult volunteer's temperature and/or other COVID-19 like symptoms.  If you are concerned please stay home.
  • Due to the cost of running camp, we will be unable to offer refunds after June 1st, regardless of the reason why one must miss camp. (Basically we will have already spent the money on supplies, activities, and busing by then and won't have the money to offer a refund).

Please remember that the day camp planning team is all volunteers and we are doing our best to keep everyone healthy and safe AND have a meaningful camp experience.

If you have any questions or concerns please email our camp director at blsudaycamp.director@gmail.com.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at camp this summer.

Sincerely,

The BLSU Day Camp Planning Team
